Kim Johnson Roberts serves as vice president of philanthropy for MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where she leads philanthropic strategy, major gift fundraising, foundation and corporate engagement, grateful patient programs, planned giving, and Board development initiatives in support of the hospital's mission and strategic priorities.

With more than two decades of experience in healthcare philanthropy, global health partnerships, and advancement leadership, Kim has built a distinguished career securing transformational gifts, cultivating long term donor relationships, and developing high impact partnerships that advance mission driven organizations.

Prior to joining MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Kim served as executive vice president at Halcyon, where she oversaw fundraising, corporate partnerships, and communications for a global social impact organization focused on health, climate, and equity-driven ventures.

Earlier in her career, Kim held senior fundraising roles with Project HOPE during the COVID-19 response alongside her work in both emergency response and humanitarian crisis philanthropy. Prior to this, she founded Bloom Strategies, advising organizations on fundraising and global health initiatives. She also led fundraising for the Make It Right Foundation, helping to secure more than $100 million in support of rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Katrina.

Kim has partnered with leading healthcare and philanthropic organizations alongside Fortune 500 companies. Her work reflects a deep commitment to strengthening health systems, advancing health equity, and fostering meaningful philanthropy that improves lives and communities.

Kim holds dual bachelor's degrees in Public Relations and International Relations from Syracuse University. She also earned a Graduate Certificate in PACs and Political Management from The George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management.

She has been recognized as a Washington Business Journal LGBTQ Business Leader Honoree and a Bank of America Neighborhood Builders Nonprofit Leader Honoree. A frequent speaker at regional, national, and international convenings, Kim shares insights on healthcare philanthropy, advancement strategy, nonprofit leadership, and global health.
