At MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, donor support transformed the John D. Maylath, MD Oncology Pavilion, creating a seamless connection between radiation therapy, infusion care, and oncology services. Heart and Vascular

When Jerry Tippett received lifesaving treatment here, it gave his family three more cherished years with him and inspired groundbreaking research into inherited heart conditions that continues today.
Philanthropy is also fueling the next generation of care through the J.D. Murphy Jr. Cardio-Oncology Fellowship, one of only 10 programs in the U.S. training specialists at the intersection of cancer and heart care.
"This fellowship keeps your finger on the pulse of new evidence and data across the field," says Dr. Tanesh Ayyalu, current fellow. "Between the research, mentorship, and clinical experience, it’s been truly transformative."
Neurology
When it comes to neurology care, every second counts. Our stroke team performs lifesaving thrombectomies (clot removal to restore blood flow) 85% faster than the national average, and donor support is helping us go even further. Community
Thanks to the generosity of donors and grant support, we expanded the FoodRx program to all four Baltimore MedStar Health hospitals. The program has served thousands of meals, supported over 275 patients, reduced A1C levels by 90%, decreased hospital visits by 20%, and narrowed the diabetes outcome gap between White and Black patients.

These efforts underscore our deep commitment to maternal and infant health—ensuring families feel heard, supported, and empowered as they become parents.
