Katelyn Lang, M.S., CCC-SLP
Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from Florida State University and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from the University of South Florida.

Dana Oliver, PTA, PORI Certified Cancer Rehabilitation Therapist
Dana is a physical therapist assistant who earned her associate degree in applied science from the College of Southern Maryland in 2006. She is a PORi-certified oncology rehabilitation therapist with clinical interests in orthopedic and sports medicine rehabilitation.
Her rehabilitation expertise includes:
- Cancer rehabilitation (fatigue, balance, and weakness)
- Orthopedic injuries and conditions
- Neck and back pain
- Knee, foot, and ankle therapy

Robin R. Remaly PT, MPT, MSEd
Robin earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science, with a minor in nutrition, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She went on to earn a master’s degree in exercise physiology from Baylor University and a master’s degree in physical therapy from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She has more than 30 years of clinical experience.
In addition to her academic training, she has also completed a 500-hour yoga teacher certification through the Asheville Yoga Center, with additional specialized training in Yin yoga. Robin’s professional focus includes advanced education in pelvic health physical therapy, allowing her to provide comprehensive, individualized care that integrates movement science, rehabilitation, and holistic wellness.

Julie Seman, DPT
Julie earned her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Illinois Chicago and brings more than 30 years of clinical experience to our team. Throughout her career, she has provided care in a variety of settings, including home health, acute inpatient, and outpatient care.

Nicole Spadavecchia, OTR/L, CLT, LGPC
Nicole is an occupational therapist who has been with MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital since 2001. Originally from New York, she earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from York College. She also earned a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Nicole is a certified lymphedema therapist with specialized training in oncology rehabilitation and cancer care.
At MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, Nicole provides care in acute inpatient, outpatient, and behavioral health settings. She serves as a mentor to new hires and students and as a clinical instructor, with a passion for supporting professional growth in occupational therapy. She also provides counseling services to adults in the community outside of MedStar Health.

Jan Watson, COTA/L, CLT
Jan attended Allegany College of Maryland, where she received her Associate of Applied Science degree in occupational therapy assistant. Jan joined MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in July 2012. She is a certified lymphedema therapist and certified in physical modalities.

How do I get to my physical therapy appointment after I’ve arrived at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital?
The physical therapy department is in the main hospital on the first floor to the right of the greeter’s desk. If you arrive at the outpatient pavilion, please proceed to the main hospital entrance for your appointment.

Where should I park for my physical therapy appointment at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital?
Physical therapy patients should park in front of the main entrance or in the wound care parking area. Please see the parking and location information webpage.

How should I prepare for my physical therapy appointment
To best prepare for your physical therapy appointment, eat a balanced meal 1-2 hours before therapy and drink about 2.5 cups of water before therapy. Take any prescribed pain medications at least 1 hour before therapy. Dress in T-shirts, athletic tops, sweatpants, shorts, yoga pants, or athletic leggings. Wear athletic/walking shoes and avoid open-toed sandals, flip-flops, and high heels. Please ensure access to the treatment area.

Do you offer private treatment areas?
MedStar Health Physical Therapy specialists understand that some conditions and treatments require increased privacy. Private treatment areas are available when appropriate to help you feel comfortable during treatment.

How many physical therapy sessions will I need, and how long will the sessions last?
The number and duration of PT sessions depend on your specific injury or condition, treatment goals, and progress. Some patients may complete therapy in fewer visits; others, especially those recovering from surgery or returning to sport, may require more frequent or longer sessions. We reassess your progress often and adjust accordingly.
