Welcome to physical therapy at Bel Air Athletic Club

Our clinic at the Bel Air Athletic Club offers orthopaedic services for all ages and activity levels. Our specialists treat both acute and chronic orthopaedic injuries and conditions, including spine and lower back pain, as well as sports-related injuries. We also work collaboratively with MedStar Health’s renowned orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine specialists to help you return to your everyday life faster and safer.

    Steve Luca attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiological sciences. He also completed his master’s degree in physical therapy from Old Dominion. Steve is a certified athletic trainer and specializes in the following rehabilitation areas:

    Amy Klumpp received her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from University of Maryland School of Medicine. For her undergraduate degree, she attended Towson University where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and graduated from the Honors College, Summa Cum Laude. Amy's rehabilitation specialties include:

  • Karen Zimmerman, PTA, ATC

    Karen Zimmerman attended Salisbury University where she received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training. She also completed her associate’s degree in physical therapy assistance from Anne Arundel Community College. Karen is a certified athletic trainer and her rehabilitation specialties include:

  • Chelsea Insley, PT, DPT

    Chelsea Insley received her B.S. In biology, with a minor in chemistry, from Stevenson University, graduating Cum Laude in 2011. She then attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011. She has gone on to receive certifications in Functional Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction training, and Myofascial Decompression. She is also an Institute for Clinical Excellence specialist in orthopedics and clinical management of the fitness athlete. She was a multi-sport athlete growing up and has been an avid gym goer and weightlifter since college, and she provides a fitness-forward treatment approach to improve each patient's overall health and wellness.

  • Anthony Huling, PT, DPT

    Anthony received his B.S. in Kinesiological Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park. He then obtained his A.A.S. in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and worked for MedStar Health Physical Therapy from 2016 to 2021. Anthony went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from South College in June 2023. Anthony is also an ICE Certified Specialist: Fitness Athlete, and a CrossFit L1 Trainer and enjoys applying the CrossFit ethos and methodology to his treatments. Anthony's specialties include:

We offer return-to-play assessments, overhead throwing evaluations, running-injury care, and sport‐specific rehab protocols. Whether you’re recovering from ACL surgery or managing a chronic overuse condition, we tailor the program toward your activity goals.

    MedStar Health Physical Therapy at Bel Air - Athletic Club is typically open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

  • How should I prepare for my physical therapy appointment?

    Eat a balanced meal 1-2 hours before therapy. Drink about 2.5 cups of water before therapy. Take any prescribed pain medications at least 1 hour before therapy. Dress in T-shirts, athletic tops, sweatpants, shorts, yoga pants, or athletic leggings. Wear athletic/walking shoes and avoid open-toed sandals, flip-flops, and high heels. Please ensure proper access to the treatment area.
