Michelle Deville, RN, is the scientific center administrative director of Orthopedic and Sports Medicine at MedStar Health Research Institute. In this role, she plays a vital part in promoting the growth and advancement of orthopedic and sports medicine research within MedStar Health.
With over 20 years of experience in clinical care and research leadership, Michelle began her career at MedStar Health as a nurse at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. In 2009, she joined the MedStar Health Research Institute (MHRI) as the Device Trials Team Leader for the MedStar Cardiovascular Research Network (MCRN). Over time, Michelle advanced to Manager and later Associate Director within MCRN and has been instrumental in expanding research efforts across the system, including initiating studies at new sites like MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. Her leadership has been key in achieving successful FDA inspections, upholding high regulatory compliance standards, and research excellence.
Michelle is a member of the MHRI Senior Leadership team, the MedStar Nursing Leadership Council, and the Joint Georgetown-MedStar Scientific Council. She previously co-chaired the entity’s Wellness Committee.
She holds a bachelor’s degree with a double major in Criminology and Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and later earned her nursing degree from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia
