Ade Waterman is one of the inpatient Internal Medicine Chief Residents at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where he focuses on clinical education, mentorship, and resident wellness while supporting program development across training sites. Originally from Barbados, he earned his medical degree at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom before moving to Washington, DC to complete his residency at Georgetown. During training he was awarded the W. Proctor Harvey, MD “Intern of the Year” Award as well as a SPIRIT Award, and he completed the Global Health Equity Track with electives in both DC and Thailand. His academic interests include gastroenterology, colorectal cancer prevention, and advancing health equity, and he has presented his work at multiple national and international conferences. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling, fitness, and bringing people together through humor and community.
