About me
Willie Liang, MD, is a board-eligible vascular surgeon at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and MedStar Harbor Hospital. He treats the spectrum of vascular disease including abdominal aortic aneurysm, peripheral artery disease (PAD), carotid artery disease, peripheral venous disease, and aortic dissection.
Dr. Liang is dedicated to providing the best care possible to his patients using minimally invasive endovascular procedures as well as standard open surgeries. His approach and treatment plans are determined by what is best for the patient based on their particular pathology, anatomy, and overall health condition. When meeting with patients, Dr. Liang takes the time to answer questions in easy-to-understand terms, often explaining that the vascular system is a lot like plumbing, a metaphor that helps his patients better understand their conditions.
He is particularly interested in minimally invasive procedures that are tailored to each person’s unique anatomy and allow for quick recovery and less time in the hospital. In addition, he hopes to bring in more complex aorta aneurysm treatments.
