About me
Thuy Nguyen, MD, is an attending physician and assistant professor in MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s Division of Pediatric Neurology. She obtained both her undergraduate and medical degrees at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. She remained at Stanford Children’s Health for residency and fellowship training in Child Neurology, and then she went on to complete sub-specialty training in Epilepsy at Children’s National Hospital in DC.
Although her main area of clinical expertise is diagnosis and management of complex epilepsies, including refractory/intractable and genetic seizures, she also enjoys treating a variety of general pediatric neurological conditions. She sees patients in both the hospital and clinic setting.
Dr. Nguyen understands the multifaceted impact of seizures on not only a child’s life, but the lives of their families. Her goal is to understand the unique challenges her patients face, appropriately inform them of diagnostic and treatment options, and develop a plan that works best for them. She is a proud member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and is passionate about meeting her patients where they are in their journey.
She also has a special interest in medical education and she believes that both patients and healthcare providers play an integral role in training new generations of compassionate and competent physicians. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants and spending time outdoors with her husband and two young children.
