About me
A board-certified gastroenterologist, Shervin Shafa, MD, serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Shafa completed a fellowships in Gastroenterology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital followed and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also trained in advanced therapeutics for malignant and benign lesions of the esophagus.
Dr. Shafa's research interests include endoscopic techniques and non-invasive methods for diagnosis and management of early esophageal cancer and Barrett's esophagus.
Dr. Shafa also performs cryoablative therapy for treatment of Barrett’s esophagus and esophageal cancers.
