About me
Saeed A. Alqahtani, MD, FAAN, is a board-certified neurologist at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He is also fellowship-trained in endovascular neurosurgery and vascular neurology. He specializes in the treatment of routine and complex neurovascular conditions including acute strokes and other vascular disorders of the brain. In addition to being a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, he is a member of the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, American College of Physicians, and the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery.
Dr. Alqahtani’s approach to care centers on helping patients navigate their illnesses by providing reliable education, personalized care plans, and minimally invasive treatments. While offering expert guidance and compassionate support, he empowers patients to make well-informed decisions about their overall health. Moreover, he collaborates with an experienced and multidisciplinary team of neurosurgeons, vascular neurologists, and neuro-ICU experts to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
He is dedicated to developing the next generation of medical professionals who are equally committed to advancing the care of people battling neurovascular disorders. Dr. Alqahtani also is passionate about clinical research that deepens the understanding of cerebrovascular diseases, intravenous thrombolysis, ischemic strokes, and endovascular therapies. These studies can lead to new and innovative treatments that further improve patients’ quality of life. Referring physicians should know that he will keep them well informed about their patients’ progress during every step of care!
