About me
Dr. Redfield is a fellowship trained transplant hepatologist. She is board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology as well as internal medicine. Her areas of special expertise include management of chronic liver disease prior to and after transplantation, women with liver disease, including pregnancy-related liver conditions, and reproductive health as it pertains to liver disease.
She treats patients with the full range of liver diseases. In addition to the conditions listed above, she cares for patients with cirrhosis, acute liver failure, alcohol-related liver disease, metabolic-associated liver disease, fatty liver disease of pregnancy, autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, portal hypertension, and liver disease requiring transplantation.
Dr. Redfield earned her medical degree at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed her residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She completed two fellowships—one in gastroenterology and hepatology at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey and one in transplant hepatology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Redfield has a special interest in global health and is involved in gastroenterology and hepatology care in Rwanda. Her research interests include cardiovascular risk stratification in women with inflammatory disorders such as autoimmune liver disease.
