Dr. Michael Abramson is a board-certified Vascular and Interventional Radiologist with MedStar Health and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He is also Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital Center and Chief of Interventional Radiology for the Southern Maryland Region of MedStar.
As an Interventional Radiologist, Dr. Abramson performs minimally invasive, image-guided diagnostic and treatment procedures for a wide range of vascular and non-vascular diseases and conditions. He performs the full range of IR procedures including: needle biopsy, drainage, venous access (e.g., ports, dialysis catheters), IVC filter placement/retrieval, feeding tube placement, angiography, embolization (e.g., uterine fibroids, trauma), kyphoplasty, and interventional oncology (e.g., TARE, TACE, ablation).
Dr. Abramson attended medical school at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency, as well as his fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology, at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
