About me
Katherine Hamilton, MD is an assistant professor of Neurology at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. She specializes in caring for patients with headache and is board certified in neurology and headache medicine. She sees patients in Chevy Chase, MD and in Washington, DC as part of the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital Headache Center.
Dr. Hamilton treats a wide array of headache-related disorders such as migraine, headaches related to neck and jaw tension, facial pain and trigeminal neuralgia, and rare headache disorders. She has a particular interest in women’s health, hormonal contributions to migraine, and treating migraine during pregnancy and perimenopause.
Dr. Hamilton believes that a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to headache is critical in managing headaches and uses a variety of treatments including medications, procedures, devices, and complementary and behavioral approaches.
Dr. Hamilton is involved in medical education at Georgetown and has spoken and published on various headache topics. Some recent publications are listed below.
