About me
Dr. Ghazaleh Jazi is a fellowship-trained, board-certified neurologist who specializes in cognitive and movement disorders. She diagnoses and treats patients experiencing a wide range of symptoms including memory loss, cognitive and emotional concerns, tremors, speech and language challenges, involuntary movements, balance and coordination problems, walking difficulties, and frequent falls. Her primary clinical expertise focuses on caring for patients with Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, and other related conditions.
Dr. Jazi provides advanced treatments and procedures for movement disorders and Alzheimer’s disease, including medication therapy placed under the skin for advanced Parkinson’s disease and deep brain stimulation programming and management. For eligible patients with early Alzheimer’s disease, she offers anti-amyloid therapy and coordinates treatment with the infusion team. She also performs botulinum toxin injections for abnormal neck muscle contractions, muscle stiffness and tightness, and excessive sweating or drooling.
Philosophy of care
Given the complexity of neurological conditions, Dr. Jazi believes one of the most important things she can give her patients is her time and understanding. She takes a thoughtful, thorough approach to every visit, listening carefully to patients, asking detailed questions, and conducting comprehensive evaluations so patients feel heard, understood, and cared for.
She views patients and their families as partners in care, encouraging open communication and shared decision-making. By combining evidence-based medicine with compassion and respect, she develops personalized treatment plans that reflect each patient’s unique goals, priorities, and lifestyle. She considers it a privilege to support patients and families through what are sometimes challenging health journeys.
Education and training
Dr. Jazi earned her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. She completed a fellowship in movement disorders at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., as well as a residency in adult neurology at University of California in Irvine.
She has also conducted and participated in neuroscience research. She served as a clinical research assistant at the University of California in Irvine and the California Institute of Neuroscience, and was a postdoctoral research fellow at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Dr. Jazi’s research has appeared in medical journals and has been presented at several healthcare conferences.
