About me
Farooq H. Sheikh, MD, specializes in Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation. Dr. Sheikh is the System Medical Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Program at the MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute.
Dr. Sheikh publishes extensively in his field and has authored or co-authored numerous articles related to cardiovascular medicine and heart failure.
Dr. Sheikh is a recipient of numerous awards, including: Professionalism Award, Department of Medicine, Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and Frank L. Pollack, MD, Research Award, New York Medical College.
Dr. Sheikh was a post-doctoral research fellow at The McKusick-Nathans Institute of Genetic Medicine, Division of Cardiology, at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He was also a research assistant at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at New York Medical College.
Dr. Sheikh served as an assistant professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
