About me
Charles Schnee, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon with more than 20 years of clinical experience. At MedStar Health, he offers a full-range of consultative and surgical services for general neurosurgery. Dr Schnee is fellowship trained in spinal surgery and offers minimally-invasive and microsurgical operative approaches. Dr. Schnee specializes treatment for spinal disorders associated with degenerative disease, prior surgeries, instability, spinal cord and nerve compression, adult scoliosis, osteoporosis, trauma, infection, congenital anomalies, and tumors.
Dr. Schnee earned his medical degree at Tufts Medical School, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr Schnee trained in Neurological Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr Schnee had a full time academic appointment in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Maryland, serving as Chief of Spinal Surgery, and a clinical appointment with the UCLA School of Medicine. Prior to joining MedStar Health, Dr. Schnee served as Chief of Neurosurgery at Saint Agnes Hospital, and Chief Medical Officer at Maryland Specialty Surgery Center.
Dr. Schnee serves as president of the Maryland Neurosurgical Society and is a fellow of both the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and American College of Surgeons.
