About me
Bhumika S. Gandhi, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She provides primary care to both children and adults of all ages, and especially enjoys caring for families. Providing patient- and family-centered care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, she communicates effectively to promote wellness, and is thorough in managing new and chronic medical problems.
Dr. Gandhi is also the Medical Director of the Medstar Georgetown Cancer Survivorship Program in the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, which addresses the unique short- and long-term health needs of both pediatric and adult cancer survivors. This program offers patients access to coordinated post-cancer healthcare planning, including comprehensive, individualized survivorship care plans and referrals.
Dr. Gandhi is an active teacher and course director in the Georgetown University School of Medicine, and has mentored many students. She is a member of several committes both in the medical school and in the hospital, including work on the Electronic Health Record, interprofessional education, and the medical school curriculum. She has spoken at national and regional conferences on her cancer survivorship work.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
