Disha Sharma, MD, is fellowship trained in gastroenterology and hepatology. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal conditions such as esophageal disorders, stomach and small bowel conditions, colonic disorders, and colorectal cancers, as well as other diseases that involve the digestive system.
Her clinical areas of focus include management of Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal cancer prevention, colon cancer prevention, early diagnosis of gastric cancer, and genetic gastrointestinal diseases. Dr. Sharma gained significant clinical research experience during her medical training as a volunteer and clinical fellow at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, MD. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Foregut Society, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the American Gastroenterology Association.
